The Life and Legacy of the Athabasca Glacier

The Life and Legacy of the Athabasca Glacier is an interactive exhibit about one of Canada's most iconic and rapidly disappearing glaciers. Located in Jasper National Park, the Athabasca Glacier is projected to vanish within one human generation, a visible reminder of the accelerating impacts of climate change. Through a series of art installations, visitors are invited to reflect on its fragile beauty, its deeply rooted history, and its place within our shared future.

The exhibit is a three-chapter immersive experience that takes visitors through the phases of the glacier's life. It contrasts the timescales of glacial growth (millennia) with its disappearance (decades), and closes by inviting visitors to leave a message in honour of the glacier's legacy and to reflect on what may continue beyond its life. It is set to be shown to the public at the Jasper Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre.

I served as a technical designer, responsible for the TouchDesigner implementation, projection mapping, set fabrication, and full-stack development of the visitor interaction app.
